@DetroitLove4U Jajajajajaja o my god¡ you just gave me a nice moment reading this, i feel the same way then you, two days ago from seeing your coment alex rodriguez came to 600 homerunbs and is not the same, now that we all know some of them cheat it doesnt have the same feeling, and it just comes down to watch dreams, fictional heroes, but we got some real to, but sadly they are gone, Babe Ruth, Aaron, Jesse Owens, Marciano, Dempsey...

The best scene from any sports movie. Ever. Period.

I loved this film when I first saw it 20 years ago. Seen it many times since. This scene chokes me up more even than it did two decades ago - because I have a son of my own now. And when Roy and Bobby just look at each other over the broken Wonderboy bat, and again at the exchange of the "Savoy Special", that's how me and my son look at each other almost every day. Over the biggest things, over the littlest things. And he's only five. He makes me feel like Roy Hobbs. Or Superman. Invincible.

One of the best scenes in movie history. It shows all that could be good about baseball and Americana. Hobbs the aging prodigy that gets one last shot at bat, the end of his wonder bat, the look he gives the bat boy when he hands him the bat they made together, and his long lost girl that knew he had it in him laughs as he shows the world what he had in him.

i remember first wanting to watch this movie after i had read the book which was great (a must read for any baseball fan). I was so surprised when i saw the end of the movie because it was so different. In the book Roy chases a pitch and strikes out to end the game... very sad ending, but a beautiful ending still in the book. I still love what they did in the end for this movie even though it was different. it leaves u with a good feeling.

I always thought the bat boy looked kind of like Glenn Close. I wonder if that was intentional? |
